Samsung countering Panasonic's HM-TA1 with the HMX-E10 camcorder

Samsung Electronics has announced its intention to roll out a few new digital cameras in September, including the HMX-E10 pocket-sized camcorder which features a 270-degree swiveling lens and is capable of recording 1920 x 1080 video in the H.264 format.

The compact device packs a 1/3.2 inch CMOS sensor, offers 2x digital zoom, and includes a 2.7-inch (230,000 dots) touchscreen LCD, a microSD slot, USB and HDMI connectors, and a one-touch button to quickly upload videos to YouTube.

According to its maker, the HMX-E10 will hit stores priced at $200.
